10 questions meme

I’m not that great at the meme side of blogging. I get tagged and then tend to forget about it. Or I type it, forget and it sits in my drafts folder for ages and then it feels too late to post it.

So when the very lovely Kara tagged me with the 10 questions meme I was determined to get it done in a timely fashion.

Describe yourself in seven words

Ok, I’ve come back to this question several times and I still can’t come up with anything that doesn’t sound a bit trite to be honest. It depends on so many different factors so I’ll have to go with “I’m me; many things to many people”.

What keeps you awake at night?

Miss P mainly. And Rich, who is a major bed and duvet hogger. He also sleep talks and sleep eats – it’s not unusual to wake up to find him munching biscuits in bed but still fast asleep.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be and why?

Miss P. To see the world through her eyes would be mind blowing and I’d be able to check that she really is as happy as she seems. I might also be able to find a way through the tantrums.

What are you wearing now?

I wish I could say that it was some glamorous ensemble or maybe a couple of well chosen, classic designer pieces. Or even that I’m lounging about in something that wouldn’t look out of place in The White Company catalogue but no, I’m wearing jeans and a very old jumper. I have wet hair because I’ve just washed it and my very fake, very cheap uggs which I use as my slippers.

What scares you?

Not that much really. A lot of things worry me but the one thing that truly frightens me is something terrible happening to Miss P.

What is the best and worst thing about blogging?

The best thing is having a space where I can ramble on to my hearts content about whatever’s on my mind, without enduring the eye rolls from the family. And comments, I love comments. The worst is the self imposed blogging police, the egos and the bitching that crops up every now and again.

What was the last website you looked at?

I’ll have to say Facebook but it may or may not have actually been a website where I was ordering one of Rich’s Christmas presents.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

My eyesight. I am incredibly short sighted and it drives me mad. I can’t wear contact lenses and can’t afford laser surgery. It’s not just for vanity reasons; I’d love to open my eyes in the morning and to be able to see things clearly, rather than the blurry mass I see now.

Slankets – yes or no?

I can see the appeal but no, not for me. There’s something about them that reminds me a little of a straight jacket.

Tell us something about the person who tagged you?

I ‘met’ Kara when we both signed up for the penpal club set up by Dawn. I’ve been a terrible penpal and I imagine that she has given up hope of ever getting another letter from me. But I’m glad that we met. She is a lovely, genuine person and a great friend. Her life isn’t always the easiest but she always has a smile and a kind word for other people.

I’m not going to tag anyone with this, I’ve seen it cropping up all over the blogosphere and I’m not sure who’s done it and who hasn’t. If you want it, consider yourself tagged.
