One potato, two potato, three potato…

We’re on the list for an allotment but in the meantime I have been practising with potatoes in bags in the back garden and pots of herbs.

I researched how to look after my potato babies very carefully and showered them with love and attention.

Healthy plants grew, flowers appeared and then it came.

Digging up day for the first lot. Another three planters are biding their time.

Yes. Well.

Not very many and not very big (tiny in some cases!) but they are grown by my own fair hands and will taste great with a knob of butter and a handful of mint.

About Sian Reynolds

I'm Sian, mother to a three year old who thinks she’s a teenager and a husband who has issues with cows. Both have insatiable appetites and are rather fond of cake. And chocolate. And cheese. Freelance this and that, coffee drinker, food blogger. I seem to spend most of my time in the kitchen, with one eye on the laptop and the other watching the toddler run around with a colander on her head.
