Living by lists.
I live my life by lists and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I get a lot of satisfaction from crossing things off, though I have to admit that sometimes I cheat. On a day where Twitter has proved more alluring than the laundry pile I occasionally write something on there that I’ve already done, just so I can cross it off.
I have to-do lists, must-do lists, should-do lists, would like to-do lists and Help! I should have done this 2 weeks ago lists. In an ideal world lists, lusted after object lists, blogging lists, work lists, they go on and on. Some are written down neatly in one of my many notebooks, some are scrawled on the back of an envelope (usually the shopping list!) and some are stored in my head.
This may be a completely boring post to some people but for those of you who, like me have a love of lists and are basically quite nosy, here’s a little snapshot of some of the things on my must, should and would like to do lists this week.
-
- Sort out the garden. I’ve had to re-pot the tomato seedlings already, before their time I think but they weren’t happy in their little start off tray. I don’t hold out much hope for them but they may surprise me yet. I also need to sort out a space for the dustbin I’ll be growing potatoes in. They are chitting away nicely so it won’t be long until they’re ready.
- Miss P proof the hallway! Now that she has learnt how to open the stair gate in the living room (!!!), we’ve had to buy more to block off the stairs and the kitchen. It will give her more room to play as well but before I can let her loose out there I’m going to have to move things that may prove just a little bit too tempting!
- Bring The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society to the top of the reading pile next to my bed. It comes highly recommended by both my Mum and a very good bloggy friend so I’m looking forward to it. It will probably still take me a while to get round to reading it though, considering it takes me most of the week to get through the weekend papers due to my tendency to fall asleep half way through a sentence!
- Buy a couple of tickets for Mum and I for the Ladies Pamper Night at the village hall next month! Not the normal choice for a night out for either of us but it’s all in a good cause to raise money for the village’s First Responders (who support paramedics and are often first on the scene) and you never know, it may be a giggle!
So, there you have it. A glimpse into my
glamorousto-do list for this week. How about you? What should you be doing?
